What the Opportunity Pipeline is.

The Customized Opportunity Pipeline is a grant discovery capability built specifically for your institution. The pipeline reads from your Resource Development Plans (RDPs) — the strategic priorities and theories of change documented in component 1 of the WRD Grant Funding System — and continuously monitors federal, state, local, foundation, and corporate philanthropic funding landscapes for opportunities that align.

The output is not a list of every grant program in a topic area. It is a curated set of opportunities your institution would be a competitive applicant for, accompanied by go/no-go analysis using rubrics customized to your institutional context.

Why the Opportunity Pipeline exists.

There is no shortage of grant opportunities surfacing every week. Funder databases are exhaustive. Public listings on Grants.gov, foundation directories, state agency portals, and program-specific announcements collectively produce a volume that no grants office can read, much less assess. Most institutions respond by either subscribing to a generic discovery tool — which produces noise — or by relying on word-of-mouth and ad-hoc tracking, which produces blind spots.
